Nando's Church Street Review: The Best Chicken You'll Ever Taste In Bangalore

Recently I was invited to Nando's (Church Street, Bangalore) to review some of their newly launched dishes. I have always heard extremely positive reviews about this place from my friends & I've been waiting to try their globally popular Peri-Peri flame grilled chicken.

I visited the restaurant last friday with a friend and a fellow blogger. As we entered, we were greeted by their waiters and the beautiful & friendly Ms. Shambavi Mishra (Brand Manager, Nando's) who took great pleasure in showing me and my friends to our seats. I was also quite surprised to see some of the well known bloggers who had come over there for the tasting session. I could also see quite a number of families with their kids and couples in the restaurant who were relishing their meal.

The tasting session was kicked off. We were introduced to some of their best gourmet designer drinks. Shambavi was kind enough to take us through the menu and suggest the best out of their bests. We had tried few of these

A) Citrus Bliss: Mojito Mint syrup, grapefruit juice, and sprite coupled with ice cubes and fresh mint leaves.  Once spruced up with some slices of fresh citrus fruit she’s good to go.

B) Madeira red: A sweet , fizzy, pomegranate lemonade made with sprite and finished with a delicious sugary rim. Sweet and simple.

C) Portuguese lemonade

D) Poncha Zurra Blanco - A traditional drink infused with pomegranate syrup, cinnamon and ginger with slices of orange  and apple mixed with sprite.

and I must say we were quite impressed with the right mix of ingredients.

We also tried their

Spicy mixed olives, Roasted veg dip, Hummus and warm pita
Chicken livers and Portuguese Roll- Served with a roll to soak up the sauce
9 chicken wings in variety of PERi-PERi heats

Special mention must go to their Chicken livers, which was totally out of the world. I've never ever had such a tasty chicken liver in my life. My rating for the dish would be a 10 out of 10.

My award would go the Butterfly Chicken Meal. It's a unique combination of A-grade chicken (With excess fat removed) marinated for almost 24 hours, flame grilled and served in our choice of Peri-peri flavors. The reason behind the name is the portion of chicken is butterflied and off the bone. This scintillating meal was served with fresh salad, potato wedges and a designer drink (We called for Portuguese lemonade, that was brilliant once again).

For the main course, we tried their legendary Espetada Rustica ( Tender marinated chicken thighs stuffed with sundried tomatoes, red onions, served on a skewer with 2 reg sides),  Cataplana Algarve - Served in an authentic copper dish with PERi-PERi chicken thighs, grilled peppers and chick peas with our special cataplana sauce served on a bed of spicy rice, quarter chicken and their newly launched Butterfly chicken meal

Unfortunately I had to rush and couldn't relish some of their desserts. While leaving, Shambavi surprised us with a nicely designed photo portrait and a bottle of lemon herb peri-peri sauce.

Here are few of the snaps we took
